Are you feeling depressed, anxious, scattered? Does is seem like your relationships and life are falling apart? Please know that you are not alone. Here is a quick trivia question…in what year did Time Magazine do a cover on stress declaring that it is the most stressful time in history? (…some Jeopardy music…).

If you guessed 1983 you are right. What? 1983? (…chuckling aren’t you?…see, we’re off to a good start already!!…) Yep, take a look by clicking here. Now, let’s think for a moment.

That was BEFORE the Internet, cell phones, email, texting, Facebook, Twitter, Linked-in, You Tube, X-box, PS-3, Ebay, Amazon, cable TV, reality TV, satellite TV, 5-zillion channels on TV, and the economic collapse of 2008! WOW ! …Think about the stress today! As a practicing counselor here in Wilmington, NC, I know the unique stresses you are under and I can help.

The first thing to realize is that it is a difficult and stressful time and you are not alone trying to stay above water!

I provide LCSW supervision in Wilmington, NC. I have been a supervisor in the Wilmington area for six years and have helped many social workers become successfully licensed.

Because I also teach graduate clinical practice at UNCW I am an expert in various clinical approaches and how to utilize them with clients. I am open about the realities of clinical practice and see a large part of helping supervisees as guiding them through the ins and outs of the mental health system.

Much of the stress I see from being an LCSW comes from learning how to work in agencies, developing ways to get paperwork done efficiently, navigating the balance between making client contacts, and being therapeutically effective.

I offer clear and practical ideas on how to get through the system in order to help yourself and your clients. I have a person-centered approach in that I adapt supervision to your needs.
